Nail Manicure Tutorial
If this is your 1st time, please read this carefully:
dot
Make sure to really take your time and read all the steps CAREFULLY. The 1st time it really needs your full focus and concentration to do the nails properly, so no
multi-tasking.
dot
Like playing the piano, doing your nails is a skill. You will get better at it each
time you do it.
dot
We recommend first reading through the entire instructions and doing one nail
first to get the hang of it before proceeding to the rest.
dot
Also if this is your 1st time, we recommend to do the process first on just 1 finger to get the hang of it, and then after that do it on the rest of your fingers.
1st Time
1-2 hours
Takes the longest & results might not look as perfect as you want.
2nd Time
45 min-1 hour
Already much faster & results look much better!
3rd Time
20-30min
You can do it while netflixing and results are nail artist worthy!
Remember, practice makes perfect, and you can't expect to achieve the same results on your first try as a nail artist who has been doing it for 15 years and has worked on over 10,000 clients' nails. You will get better at each try :).
Tips & Tricks
Before diving straight into the tutorial take a quick minute to read
these tips & tricks. This way you'll get the best results possible.

Why it Occurs:

Chipping and cracking often result from:

dot
Rushing the steps.
dot
Not following the preparations steps carefully.
dot
Applying the product too thinly or unevenly.
dot
Holding the brush straight up (at 90 degrees) during application can cause uneven buildup, leading to ridges and cracks.

Solution:

1. For a uniform application, hold the brush flat against the nail and use long strokes from the cuticle to the tip. 2. Dip the nail into the powder at a 45-degree angle to achieve
a smooth surface. 3. Apply 4 color coats for maximum strength. 4. Apply extra activator around the nail's flexible free-edge for added durability.

Why it Occurs:

Lifting of the dipping powder often results from poor nail preparation. Proper adhesion requires the nail plate to be clean and free from moisture and debris.

Solution:

1. If you notice your manicure lifting, pay closer attention during the prep stage. Push back cuticles, remove any dead skin from the nail, and lightly buff away the nail's shine. This helps improve adhesion. 2. When applying the base, ensure it's near—but not on—the cuticle line. Applying on the cuticle line can cause lifting.

If your nails are still wet from the activate it, it will harden the brush of the top it, so make sure your nails are FULLY dry, this is extremely important!!

Also make sure to screw the lid of the TOP IT fully when waiting for the TOP IT to dry on your nails.

Step By Step Tutorial
Read this first: We first explain each step by text and then we show you how to do it in a video. If you're doing this for the 1st time, we HIGHLY RECOMMEND that you read the steps
& then watch the video to follow along. When you're done with a step, you can scroll to the next one.
1
Step - Prep
Quick tips: This is the MOST important step of the whole process because
if done wrong you'll have cracks & lifts later.
dot
Don't wash your hands 60 minutes before the application.
dot
Make sure your hands are completely moisturitzer & oil free.
dot
Make sure to follow the steps very carefully
Products Needed
Nail File
Cuticle Pusher
Powder Brush
Removal Pad (optional)
OR
Prime It (optional)
Steps
A: Start by using the fine side of the nail file and file your
nails in their desired shape.
Repeat on all nails.
B: Next buff the whole nail plate. It needs to be buffed lightly to remove the shine off the nail. (This step is for the best adhesion of the nail). Remove all dust with the powder brush.
Make sure all you buffed the whole nail plate lightly. Also the sides.
If not done correctly your nails will start to lift.
Repeat on all nails.
C: Now, gently push back the cuticles using the cuticle pusher. With the other side, remove all dead skin from the nail. Make sure there is no white tissue left, as this can make them prone to lifting.
Repeat on all nails.
D: Next, grab one of the remover pads and clean your nails
to ensure they're oil-free & dry.
Optional
Repeat on all nails.
E: Apply the primer to your nails for maximum durability.
Optional
Repeat on all nails.

Step - Base & Dip
Very important:
dot
Make sure to apply 4 THIN layers of base coat + dip.
dot
The 'Base it' sticks, so do NOT touch your skin. Also try not to touch the cuticle or skin to avoid premature cracking.
dot
When you're not using the bottle make sure to fully screw on the lid to prevent the brush from going hard.
Quick Tips:
dot
Coat 1 nail at a time and DIRECTLY dip your finger into the powder.
dot
Make sure NOT to paint your cuticles to prevent lifting
dot
Where you apply the base coat the powder is going to stay, so apply the base coat evenly and ONLY at the nail plate, avoid your cuticle area at
ALL costs.
If it helps you can take a toothpick and go around the edges to clean up the edges after you’ve dipped your finger into the powder, this should help to
keep it clean.
Products Needed
1. Base It
Dipping Powder
Powder Brush
Steps
A: Stir through the powder with your cuticle pusher to make sure there are no clumps in the powder and application will be smooth.
B: Take out the base coat brush and brush off the excess on 1 side of the bottle only. (This helps to prevent your bottle from getting stuck).
Now go ahead and apply a thin and even layer of base coat, ensuring you cover the sides of the nail as well. Hold the brush parallel to your nail, so not 45 or 90 degrees. This will help to prevent chips & cracks!
0 degrees
45 degrees
90 degrees
C: Now go ahead and apply a thin and even layer of base coat, ensuring you cover the sides of the nail as well.
Now dip your finger into the powder at a 45 degree angle.
Make sure your full nail is covered in powder. When you take your finger out. Tap off the excess powder.
First go on to the next step and then repeat on all nails.
D: If the powder on your finger appears wet, you've used too much base coat and you need to redip your finger without adding more base it.
Repeat on nails that appear wet.
E: After you've done all your nails brush off any excess powder
with the powder brush.
Repeat on all nails.
F: Now clean up the edges & cuticle area with the back of the cuticle pusher so you get a neat cuticle.
Repeat on all nails.
G: Now repeat applying:
Base coat + Dip 3 more times. Make sure to NOT forget to brush off excess powder & clean up the cuticle area with back of the cuticle pusher. Make sure you have a total of 4 layers.
Repeat on all nails.

Step - Activate
Quick Tips: The 2. ACTIVATE IT is the solution that hardens the nails to prevent
chipping & cracking.
dot
This solution is skin-friendly, so don't be afraid to touch the skin.
dot
Make sure to apply generously, VERY GENEROUSLY all over the nail plate.
dot
The free-edge of the nail is most likely to chip & crack because it's the most flexible, make sure to apply gently on the free-edge.
dot
Don't worry if your nails are clumpy and not perfect, in this step we'll
create the perfect shape.
Especially if it's your first time it can be a bit clumpy, but no worries, this will get better over time and 97% of our customers don't have any clumps after their
3rd try.
Products Needed
2. Activate it
Nail File
Powder Brush
Toilet/Kitchen Paper
Steps
A: Apply 2 very generous layers of activator to the full nail plate. It's important to coat the edges and, the tips as well. The activator is skin-safe, so use plenty & don’t be afraid to touch your skin with this step.
Repeat on all nails.
B: Set your timer for 2 minutes and wait until the activator has
fully hardened.
C: Now, grab the fine side of the nail file and file down until all the bumps and impurities (if you have any) disappear, leaving the nail perfectly smooth. Don't be afraid to file until you achieve a fully thin and smooth surface.
If your nails appear very thick, continue filing down until you are satisfied with the thickness of the nail.
Repeat on all nails.
D: When you are done shaping: Remove the excess dust with
the powder brush.
Repeat on all nails.
E: Apply a second layer of Activate It.
Apply a very generous amount. Again: the more, the better, and also make sure to cap the edges of the nails.
Repeat on all nails.
F: Wait 2 minutes until all the nails are FULLY dry.
G: After the timer went off, wash your hands with lukewarm water and dry them fully. This will prevent the brush from hardening.
H: To make sure the nail is fully dry go over it with a piece of paper towel and then start with the top coat.
If your nail is not fully dry and you apply the Top It then the brush will become hard. So make your nail is FULLY DRY!!
Move on to step 4 below the video
Step-By-Step Video
Wash your hands with just water before moving on to step 4
4
Step - Top Coat
Very important:
dot
If your nails are still wet from the 'Activate it' your brush will harden so make sure your nails are fully dry.
dot
When you're not using the bottle make sure to fully screw on the lid to prevent the brush from going hard.
dot
The 'Top it' sticks so do NOT touch your skin. Also try not to touch
the cuticle or skin to avoid premature cracking.
dot
And if you apply a too thick layer of the top it a “blister” will occur,
so prevent that as well!
